Note that, in a number of abbreviations and derived words, Christmas becomes just kuri クリ in Japanese. That means it's the same word, but katakanized, written with the Japanese alphabet in a way the Japanese can pronounce. The word Christmas doesn't really get translated to Japanese, it gets loaned to Japanese.
